Italy is known for its considerable artistic achievements, such as the founding of the Renaissance architectural movement in the late-14th to 16th century. The Capolona Filigree Necklace is the stunning result of the Italians elegant and time-honored influence in the jewelry world. This necklace was inspired by the intricate rose windows that grace the beautiful Renaissance-style churches and cathedrals in Italy.
To create such a piece we sought out master goldsmith Grazia e Guglielmo Giovannini. From his workshop in Capolona, tucked in the rolling hills of the Casentino valley, artisans handcraft gorgeous detailed spheres combining metalwork traditions of the Etruscan and Renaissance age with the latest in modern technology. The precision and detail that go into each individual piece is an unsurpassed example of how artisan skill can translate history into a jewelry masterpiece.
